Her house on Castle Hill in Budapest is now the Music Museum of Hungary and houses the Bartok Archives. Beethoven spent the night there on 7 May 1800 after performing at the Castle Theater with the horn player Punti.

I seem to remember reading that Beethoven slept rough in the Countess's garden for about 4 nights in a fit of depression. Is there any truth in this?

What I'd like to say is that Fux's "Gradus..." is a lot more enjoyable to digest than "Polyphonic Composition", Owen Swindale, Oxford University Press, 1962.
