I was trying to make a joke about a Xeno-phone and the connection and I didn't realise it had two meanings!

Zelter, Carl Freidrich , Berlin Musician and friend of Goethe. He may have met Beethoven in 1796 during his visit to Berlin and definitely met briefly in Vienna in 1819. They also corresponded abut the Missa Solemnis in 1823 and seemed to have a warm regard for each other.
