I was watching Joseph Losey's cinematographic adaptation of Don Giovanni. Don Giovanni goes to hell, and Beethoven thought the libretto was immoral! Losey did it with good taste and Kiri Te Kanawa, Teresa Berganza and Jose van Dam are to be seen.

Yes this is a beautiful production which I have on VHS - Beethoven did have a prudish side to his nature!
