The fragment would be in F major if for the sharp, which makes it its relative minor, D minor. But I chose the first key that came to my mind, for I do not know the tonality. Thanks Michael.
I don't know any such passage from the piano sonatas - could it be from a violin sonata as suggested by the long bars of rests? Also note the change of key signature between your two quotes, though both excerpts are in D minor.
