    Beethoven & Whistler?

According to this article, Beethoven would have loved Whistler's work - and not just because of the painter's musical name.

It has just occurred to me that it was chronologically possible for Beethoven to have met Whistler's mother. Maybe she was the Immortal Beloved! If only there was a painting of her!

I'm not so sure - Beethoven was far more interested in literature than painting, so perhaps Victor Hugo and a Beethoven opera 'Les Miserables' would have been a possibility?

I might as well include this in a "whistler" thread:

I have to swallow my pride a bit here and be swift (before I stork off back to outer orbit), but I find this thread a bit of a dead dodo.

Nowadays dodos are dead by definition, Philip ;-)

Well, I saw one just the other day, honest. Standing next to a pink elephant ... sorry, I mean flamingo.

I love birds. If I had to be any species of earth other than human I would probably be a song-bird.

Actually Roehre, recent scientific evidence shows there is still one living dodo. This dodo was a mystery to science for years, in other words science could not explain it. It is an extremely baffling situation. How can one dodo be alive and all others be extinct? Anyway, long story short, fascinating news too - the name of the very dodo that is still living is named Philip! And it even post on this forum! UNBELIEVABLE!

This is just for kicks and giggles, no offense meant, .

No need to crow about it, Preston.
