                Here in Britain Khachaturian: Spartacus: Adagio of Spartacus & Phrygia is best remembered as the opening tune of the 1970s Onedin-line series on TV.

                  To me it was a bit jazzy in a typical Latin-American style, somewhat similar to the Gould work that followed. This is what woke me up this morning, so I am a bit hazy on it. Seems that I've run across this before some time ago.

                  Khachaturian is a composer I do not seem to hear enough; I particular like his (and Kabalevsky's) rambunctiousness.
