I like his 2nd Piano concerto even more, or his Suites for orchestra

After hearing the 2nd Piano concerto for the first time on the radio I ordered it from Amazon. His piano music is quite fine.

                      This morning:

Janacek: Suite for String Orchestra (1893)

Dvorak: 4th Movement from the 4th Symphony (The radio announcer commented that the symphony was somewhat Wagnerian, however I could only think of Smetana's Ma Vlast while listening to this.

I tend to agree with the announcer, but the wagnerian moments are merely to be found in the first two mvts, not at all IMO in the scherzo, and only hinted at in the finale. The 3rd symphony is the really wagnerian symphony of Dvorak's (and the only one in 3 mvts).

Schumann's glorious piano quartet in Eb, written the same year as the better known quintet but just as fine in my opinion.
