In this "disguise" it was rather popular in the 2nd half of the 19th Century in Britain, as an alternative for the Handel chorus with the same name

An excellent "borrowing" from Mozart's La Clemenza. I wonder if Mozart ever got the credits for this Beethoven piece in Beethoven's time?
As for the "Hallelujah" movie, it somehow reminds me of PDQ Bach. The possibilities are endless.
