    New Sky Arts Beethoven Series

Anyone who has the Sky Arts channels may be interested in this. The programmes are usually repeated two or three times during each week.

All the symphonies are being featured as well:

I know what you mean! There is indeed too much repetition of the same material. Good job the Sky Arts channel is free with my package.
However, this Beethoven series is brand new and features all the symphonies preceded by a long documentary (or rather a talk). They may be repeated a few times in the same week but the whole thing is in ten or more parts.

To be honest, I not really liked it. I found it rather boring. That ofcourse has got more to do with expectations than with the real contents of the talks. I expected a kind of documentary or other background information re the symphony in question, not a talk about the interpretation.

Yes - there was plenty of talk but all of a vague nature (mostly about Thielemann's conducting techniques) and not very informative about the symphonies.
But we know all about them anyway.

              Because of your ode, Joy?
