    New daily Beethoven blog

Not sure we can take Ed Chang's place, but Kerry Candaele and I have just launched a new blog, Roll Over, Beethoven, to be updated daily with item, links, music and video. It's partly but not fully linked to our new LvB book. Here it is:

Very nice. Love the polar bear ads. I wonder if they will be shown on network television - it would certainly demonstrate to a wider audience that there is more to the Fifth Symphony than three Gs and an Eflat!
(But then again, Coca-Cola would hardly acknowledge Beethoven!)

Thanks for that Gregmitch - a nice page - fascinating to see the old 1930's Pastoral clip!

Which do you prefer, Peter? Polar bears or centaurs?

Forget polar bears and centaurs there's only one coke advert as far as I'm concerned - sorry Beethoven but this is much better! Incredible that it's over 40 years ago and I remember it as though it were yesterday.

Oh yes! A much better piece than Beethoven's Fifth or Sixth!

Prince Lobkowicz Family in NYC Last Night

At Alice Tully, for special program of three LvB pieces and one by Haydn in tribute to man who commissioned so many key works. They flew in members of Lobkowicz family from Prague. And you can read about it my new daily Roll Over, Beethoven blog.

BTW, thanks for the many who have visited the blog since it was launched just last Sunday. Ed Chang just sent along greetings, saying he was really glad someone was continuing, in some form, his work in daily form....
