Beethoven at Kennedy Center, Washington DC

I got a flier in the mail today for this concert:

    Kennedy Center Concert Hall
    All Beethoven Program:

It is less than three weeks away, and they're still hawking tickets. Anyone interested? Tix at http://www.wpas.org

    I'm going, yes indeed.

A bit too far for me to travel Susan, but enjoy what I'm sure will be an exhilarating concert!

The Gardiner concert was terrific. His Eroica was lovely, and he made the Fifth come alive, somehow just different enough in intonation to make it seem new. He had a couple of grace notes that I didn't expect, and I simply loved it.

The Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique will be back at Kennedy Center next year, with Missa Solemnis. It is too early to get tickets now, but I'll be there then.

For some reason I thought this was at Carnegie Hall; I must have misheard the Performance Today announcer (Fred Childs). I heard the one concert that featured the 5th and 7th symphonies (I am a long ways away, too, Peter) and thought it was absolutely stunning. Glad that you were able to go to that, Susan!
