Better make it Sunday week by the looks of it - I'm going to a Halloween party on Saturday night.

(Groan). At first glance, the only two I can have a stab at are 8: Ries? And 4 must be Count Fries?

Oh, and 7 must have some connection with Prometheus who was bound to a rock?

6 must be three Electors of Cologne but I can only remember the name of Max Franz. (I haven't the strength to Google the rest of them and it could still be wrong.)

Good attempts Megan, but I'm afraid not the answers I'm looking for! Some of the clues are anagrams and some are cryptic - I understand the difficulty here because I'm hopeless at cryptic crosswords, but at least we know here all clues are directly related to Beethoven in some way.

A slight clue for no.1 (which is perhaps the hardest one there) is the deliberate misspelling of 'Principalled'.
