Again inspired by Philip's brilliant cryptic message (though not intended as such!) I thought it would be fun to have a regular test of our musical knowledge, based mainly as is fitting on Beethoven.

To kick off - name these Beethoven works:

4) A Mendelssohnian trip?

I think I have a few of them but it would be better to keep the quiz open, if possible, in case others would like to work them out. So I won't spell them out:

"A spooky number" suggests Opus 70 No. 1
The Mendelssohnian clue could be Opus 112.
"First Amendment" is tricky - could it be Opus 72?
"Path through the woods" - all I can think of is Opus 68.

I replaced wood with forest Michael in the clue. No I'm afraid Op.125 isn't right - full answers tomorrow to see if anyone can get them - I'm quite pleased I've foxed you all, though you've done well to get some - the others are a bit more obscure I admit.
