    See what you mean about the image! Interesting article Michael and though the Americans were slow to appreciate Beethoven properly at first (so were the French) they took him to their heart as they did much more quickly Dvorak and Tchaikovsky later in the century.

          Oh I don't remember, really; those things usually pop up at one while one is indeliberately (indescriminately?) surfing the internet--I think I was googling something, then went over to the images aspect of the search engine and kept clicking the next button to see what would come up on the following page-I think that's how it went--lots of scary stuff out there to discover
