I think this is an excellent video by Roger Scrutton. We have sometimes talked here about modern trends in art, and this video sums up my own thoughts on it very well. I would have liked to see some more about music, but the video is well worth watching nevertheless.

Yes I saw this excellent programme a while back and I have yet to get round to ordering some of his books. I agree with much of what he says - it seems to me that the 20th century ignored the importance of beauty in architecture, music, art etc - in fact it went out of its way to worship ugliness in these areas.
