    Beethoven in "The King's Speech"

The fine new film's climax -- the "speech" of the title -- is accompanied by the 2nd movement of the 7th symphony. I believe I've read (checking now) that in real life it indeed was used during the earlier speech therapy for King George.

Then the final scene features the slow movement of the 5th piano concerto. So the key last 10 minutes of the film has crucial Beethoven backing....

Thanks for that Greg - I'll watch the film now just for that!

          What performances were used?

I didn't catch a specific performance in the credits - just a reference to the LSO. Does anyone know which they used?

And our own incredible Geoffrey Rush is playing the speech therapist in this film. He's just amazing! Looking forward to seeing the film.
