You can change your keyboard layout in your OS settings to make it easier to type such characters, or you can use the good old "alt codes" - hold down the Alt key and then press a series of numbers, and you can get these characters. For example, hold down Alt and press 0233, and you will get: é. (You generally have to use the numbers on the keypad, not the numbers above the letters.)
