Calling any classical music and human rights lovers : Please support a very worthwhile concert taking place in London on Tuesday February 9th at Cadogan Hall. It is being given by the European Doctors' Orchestra and all proceeds will go to the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.
An all Beethoven programme seems particularly appropriate for this event as he returned repeatedly to issues of human suffering and human dignity throughout his life. The concert opens with the overture he wrote for Goethe’s play about Lamoraal, Count of Egmont, who gave his life in the struggle to liberate the low countries from Spanish domination.
