Francois-Frederic Guy performed all 32 piano sonatas over the course of nine concerts at the French Embassy (Washington, DC) last week. I only got to the last one, Sonatas 30, 31, and 32, but they were excellent. Guy plays with great passion, and some of the lyrical passages were dreamy. I wish I'd gotten to more of the concerts. Only about 30 people bought the entire package of 9 concerts - most people, like myself, only attended a few sessions. He played all 32 from memory, without his sheet music.
