The concert program of the 25th annual Upper Galilee Chamber Music Festival has just been announced. I live two kilometers from the concert venue, but once again I will not bother myself to attend due to the blatant discrimination against Beethoven works. During the course of 26 concerts scheduled, the festival organizers deemed that only Beethoven piece be performed (actually it is a movement from a Beethoven piece). Why do others fare so much better:
Schubert--6 full works.
Brahms--3 full works.
Mozart--3 full works.
Birthday boy Mendelssohn--6 full works.
Sorry for letting off steam. This is my yearly rant and rave. By the way, the token Beethoven work this year is opus 134 "Grosse Fugue" for piano 4-hands!
