Doubtless many will think it a great idea but to me it's just another symptom of our dehumanising age. Why does he think this is the way to go? What on earth is the point?

I often thought of putting something like this together, a USB device for a PC. The point would be to "conduct" a MIDI file in real time. It could be of use as practice for conductors, or to get more human-sounding performances when real orchestras are not in the budget. It is also an interesting problem to work on from the technical side. I'm not sure a live performance has any real point other than to show off the technology, though.

So I don't think this is a totally useless project, no.
