    Genesis of Scherzo from Sonata op.109

    What in your mind is the greatest piano sonata Scherzo from Beethoven?
    To me it is the one from the E Major sonata op .109 (together with the one from op. 101). What a great work!! Here now I have found a very interesting presentation of how this movement came into beeing:

    My favourite piano scherzo would be the one from the Hammerklavier, but Opus 109 is very close behind. The scherzo from Opus 110 is the most fascinating in some ways as it is based on two folksong melodies. My least favourite scherzo is from Opus 111.

      You're copying me, Michael! That's my favorite piano sonata scherzo, too.
