A Beethoven Bargain.

Today our nearest Oxfam shop about 7 miles away from our home had a Sale.

Everything in the shop was just one Euro!

Lo and Behold I purchased the Complete HMV vinyl transcribed for piano Beethoven Symphonies by Liszt, played by Idil Biret. In excellent condition.
all for one Euro.

Played the Seventh already on the Sony turntable.

Interesting notes and pictures of Liszt and Beethoven too.

A man after my own heart Maurice! Yesterday I too was making a regular peruse of the charity shops and came across a beautiful 3 vol 1883 edition of Schumann's piano music in mint condition for £10. The original price was 3 guineas and this works out at around £150 in today's money.

3 Guineas was quite an expense back then, Peter. :-) Well done!

Our Charity shops supply us with books, DVDs, and the odd knicknack. We like to visit them because we never know what little treasure we will come across.

Today we were at a Carboot market, and came away laden down with vinyl, A Shubert bust, and Stephen Fry's Biography. For just a few Euros. :-)
