Milan Kundera and Beethoven

Milan Kundera´s novel "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" uses the famous quote "Es mussein!!" to depict the main´s character decision to overcome his lightness and commit to true love. Does anybody know something about Kundera´s work in relation Beethoven?
