On This Day!
1813 -- Almost totally deaf, Ludwig van Beethoven conducts the premiere of his Symphony No. 7 in a benefit concert at the University of Vienna. It was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries.The piece was very well received, and the allegretto had to be encored and I can see why as it's positively hauntingly beautiful.
