I was sorry to note today that the University of Illinois Press will cease publication of its "Beethoven Forum" semi-annual publication. I had enjoyed reading some of the articles in this publication, and will miss receiving it.

That's too bad; I just received the most recent issue in the mail the other day and it had some interesting articles in it, especially about performance practice.

Yes, too bad. Small consolation, but at least the online archives of past issues are still available, which for me is a good thing since I have not read every article.

This is very saddening news for Beethoven scholars, and Beethoven 'amateurs' everywhere. I find this surprising, as I have recently purchased from the very same University of Illinois Press a rather expensive tome : The String Quartets of Beethoven, University of Illinois Press 2006 (ed., William Kinderman). Why did they decide to cease publication?
