The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra now runs a series of concerts at the new Strathmore Symphony Hall in Rockville, Maryland. It's a beautiful concert hall, and I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. I just ordered season tickets (six concerts) which include:
Mahler Symphony No. 5 (we won't be able to go to that one - I'll trade it for something else).
Schumann Symphony 1 and Mendelssohn Violin Concerto
Beethoven Leonore Overture 3 and Symphony No. 5 (my favorite!)
Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 1 and Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique
Bach Brandenburg Concerti 3,4,6 and Bach Double Violin Concerto
and of course, Beethoven Symphony No. 9
(and for good measure, I added Carmina Burana)
I am so much looking forward to this!
