I'm considering purchasing some new headphones and wondered if anyone has some suggestions. I've thought about Bose but the price and the fact I don't really need noise exclusion put me off. I'm more interested in Sennheiser, but there are so many models - I'm looking for comfort, great sound quality and mid range price. Any thoughts?

My headphones of choice have always been the Sony MDR7506 Professional Large Diaphragm Headphones. They are great for the studio or just for listening to music - they have excellent reproduction from the bass to the high end. They are extremely comfortable, and they last forever. You should be able to find them for about $100. Even headphones that cost two or three times as much don't sound any better to my ears, and sometimes not as good.

Just a suggestion, you might want to look into getting wireless, if you are going to be using them in the house.
I live in between a country house and an apartment complex, what I am saying is that I live at both. When I am at the apartment complex, I have to wear headphones at night. I have been wearing wired headphones but it is very unpleasant trying to move around and you have to sit right at the stereo or the computer, so it is not good.
I am looking into getting the, Acoustic Research AW771 900 MHz Wireless Stereo Headphones. They used to be on Amazon for $54, I think. The reviews were good and said that they were very comfortable.
I would not recommend buying any used headphones.

I would recommend trying on a few pairs of good moderately priced wireless if you can. We have stores in America, that are pretty ridiculous (trying to carry everything that the world has to offer and the majority of it is just cheap), but they have setups where you can sample out the equipment. You might should try to find something like this. If you can't find that then try a small electronics store and see if they know anything about them or if they can order you a pair just to try. I would recommend doing everything you can to try a good pair of wireless, because I imagine that it would be worth it in the long run. When buying something like wireless, the latest (past 2 years or so) technology would probably be pretty important.
Or you could contact the manufacturer of the headphones and ask them if their wireless headphones sound good, just kidding of course.
Kind Regards,
