Beethoven's influences and legacy

I am doing a paper on Beethoven's influences, as well as the legacy that he left, i.e. those that were directly influnced by his work. I was wondering if anyone could point me to some helpful sites I can use while researching this project.

Are there any Beethoven mailing lists in existence at this time?

The Classical style by Charles Rosen has a little on the negative influence of Beethoven on the generation that immediately followed him, he states that all that was most interesting in their music 'is a reaction against Beethoven or an attempt to ignore him -all that is weakest submits to his power and pays him the emptiest and most sincere of homages'.
