Sounds familiar, I should read my CD notes more often. I don't recall getting any feed back from the mp3 in question, I presume it did not offend.

Thank you, I will find all the versions you advise me (because I feel that you have good taste, even if sometimes a little bit different !)
I cannot eat and sing at the same time but before (for the fear....) a concert, and after (like a "récompense" !!!) chocolates are welcome, and really those B. chocolates (with fine champagne) are delicious....

Now a very special demand : what is your prefered recording of the 5th ???

You can say that again. If it's not played on authentic instruments I, for one, don't even consider it! Not that this guarantees a good performance by any means.

I play the Hanover Band's version, which is pretty good. Another work, though, where for every good rendition one hears, there are 20 lame ones.

My preference is Symphonies 5 & 8 - Günter Wand/ North German Radio Symphony Orchestra RCA Red Seal 60092-2-RC

          I also recommend Symphonies 5 & 7 - Carlos Kleiber/ Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra Deutsche Grammophon 447400-2

And there's always Harnoncourt with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
