      Well, since you mention it the instruments they use are an important factor in their sound. In fact I liked sound of lead guitar so much I bought one myself (Gibson SG). The rhythm always uses a Gretch which gives a kind of Country sound. If either switched to a Fender my love afair with AC/DC would be over! So you see my behaviour is consistant.
