    Just after the premiere performance of "Eroica," Beethoven was taking a walk and found himself in the neighborhood of Salieri's residence. He decided to drop in on his teacher, but Salieri was not at home. Beethoven left a note and signed it "Beethoven the student." That was most humble of Beethoven.
