    There's an interesting article in the July 10 Washington Post about harmonies and dissonances. Here's a link and the first paragraph. The whole article is on-line, but you probably have to register (free) to read it all.

    Non-Euclidean geometry can help us understand how Western composers choose specific chords and why their music sounds either harmonic or dissonant, according to a paper published in Friday's issue of the journal Science.
