scrolling the faksimile of the Ninth symphony

Today I was scrolling through the handwritten score of the whole 9th symphony in
    http://beethoven.staatsbibliothek-be...9/1/index.html

I am not sure whether there has been a topic on this before in this forum, so some of you may not know about this unique chance to scroll through this masterpiece. I find it really remarkable that maybe the greatest written music ever can be so chaotic and yet so impressive. I can scroll through these pages only with speachless reverence...

Thanks Gerd for that excellent link - I'll enjoy working my way through that when I get a spare few hours/days!

Gerd, that was very interesting to see and should give me some insight before going to the Symphony Hall to hear this wonderful Symphony next month. Thanks for the info.

Wow. That was worth looking at. Does anyone know what the reddish pencil marks are? Corrections I'm guessing. And were they done by Beethoven?
