Grammy Awards; Classical Music!
The Grammy Awards were presented last night and here are some of the winners in the Classical Music catagory,
The album that swept the Classical Grammys this year was William Bolcom's Songs of Innocence and of Experience won four Grammy Awards;
Best Chamber Music Performance: Mendelssohn: The Complete String Quartets, Emerson String Quartet;
Bach is still winning Grammy's, after all these centuries. An album of Bach cantatas won;
Evgeny Kissin won for four Scriabin Preludes, from Opus 15;
Sir Colin Davis and the London Symphony won a Grammy for Best Opera Performance of Verdi's Falstaff;
And Orchestral Performance went to Shostakovich: Symphony No. 13;
And pianist Martha Argerich, won for her performance of BEETHOVEN Piano Concertos with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
