    Possible New Mozart Discovery

A fellow Mozart researcher with whom I have recently been in correspondence named Jan-Willem has just posted some details online of a remarkable discovery he says he has made in the basement of his local Dutch library - the first page of an unknown musical work from 1789 by Mozart written during Mozart's visit to Berlin. You can see his post on the forum at Mozartforum. At present he says he has only a single page of music.

Secondly, the same Jan Willem has noticed that Koechel refer to the year 1770 when Mozart was in Italy in conncection with the content of a late Mozart quartet KV575. He has just posted to Mozartforum on this issue also.

Jan Willem admits later on that he was playing a practical joke... pity. In any case, the sheet that he claimed to have found was a transcription of Doktor und Apotheker by Ditters. What a jokester!
