I was, however, pleased to learn that the buyers at Cannes chose our film as one of the most highly-anticipated films now in production. You can read about it in the special Cannes supplement of The Hollywood Reporter this week.

That's very good news! They must have very good taste!! I have never seen The Hollywood Reporter anywhere on our news stands. Could you give us more of what the article was saying or is there a way we could get a hold of it? Thanks!

If you go to the Hollywood Reporter's web site and type Copying Beethoven into the search box, it will take you to an article entitled The A List. We're on that list.

By the way, I finished writing my new novel yesterday. Most difficult book I've ever written - it's a great relief to be done.

Yes, what's it about? Another movie in the making perhaps?

I am brand new to this forum, which I was delighted to discover while searching for news about this film. This is my first reply here. After all I've read, I just had to stop in and say "congratulations!"

This is very exciting news indeed - for you and for us, who are eagerly waiting for this film to be released!! The dedication you speak of from all those involved with the project speak well for its success. Hopefully this will move the process along and make a pre-Christmas release an actuality rather than a wish.

I'd also like to say thank you so much for your generosity in sharing what you can about the process of bringing it from page to screen. And thanks to all who post here, for insight into the man, his times, and his music. I've enjoyed my visits here very much for all I'm learning on both levels.

The attention to detail and accuracy, within budget limitations and other constraints of film making, are very gratifying to hear. However, let me add that the "masses", of which I am one, will not notice the difference between the construction of the instruments now as compared to those of Beethoven's time and will therefore not find that to be a distraction from the story. However, now that it's been brought to my attention, it will add a level of awareness that I wouldn't otherwise have had. This is a good thing.

From what I hear of the portrayals being created by the stellar cast, it would be next to impossible for anthing to distract from the tale being told in any case. However, I do have a question about one character that so far I've not seen a mention of: Martin Bauer. My guess is that he's Anna's boyfriend, but beyond that I have no idea. I would be interested in any information you care to share about the character and the actor who plays him to help fill out the way the story unfolds.

Thanks again to you, and to all who post here, for sharing your knowledge and insights. It's also really wonderful to see that suggestions made by those here are being taken into consideration for use in making the film. Another example of the wonders and benefits of internet technolgy put to good use.

Good luck and best wishes for great success for this film and future endeavors.
