    As The Master once said"It must be";

    Stille Nacht - Franz Gruber

    Always to be in sung Deutsch. It moves my deeply and reminds me of all humanity, in particular the World war One - 1914 troops self imposed ceasefire.
    For one day they all became friends, a brotherhood of mankind.The next day they returned to killing each other.
    I'm sure Beethoven would have been moved at such waste of life.

    Happy Christmas everyone, a peaceful and prosperous new year to you all.

      I am Jewish so I don't officially celebrate Christmas, but unofficially I have prevailed upon my wife to give me a CD set of the complete cantatas of an obscure German composer from the town of Leipzig...can't remember his name right now, darn it..on the tip of my tongue.. but I shall enjoy those cantatas anyway!

      To add to list of beautiful carols and such all of you have listed, I'd like to just put in a word for Bing Crosby's classic version of 'White Christmas', composed by the Jewish Irving Berlin. This song evokes the season very fondly for me.
      See my paintings and sculptures at Saatchiart.com. In the search box, choose Artist and enter Charles Zigmund.
