Quite so - Corrected now on the page at least!

An earlier song An die Geliebte 'To the beloved' was used as evidence for the Immortal beloved by Solomon. Composed by Beethoven in December 1811; in the corner of the manuscript, in Antonie's writing are the words "Requested by me from the author on March 2nd, 1812".

A reasonable effort here, but nothing spectacular. I like Partridge's elevated, though at times unsteady, tone. I have other 'conventional' versions sung by Fischer-Dieskau and Stephan Genz, but the mp3 is the one I play the most.

Thanks for this, thoroughly enjoyable. I must admit that, despite listening to B for about thirteen years, I'm relatively new to his Lieder. I have one recording of this work, by Hermann Prey. I can't remember the name of the pianist, but it was a modern piano. This is a truly great work, beautifully lyrical and original, and a real slap in the face for those who insist B struggled with the voice!
