A reasonable effort by Tan here, he plays it more 'straight' (ie less messing with unnecessary rubato effects at the expense of momentum) than some efforts I've heard. The fp as usual adding transparency to Beethoven's more robust moments compared to the modern instrument.

Thanks, Rod. This work one of my favorite of the piano sonatas. This seems like a pretty good recording. How good is the final movement in this recording?

The finale is of a similar standard. Of the few recordings I have of op81a this is the one I play. Not perfect, but nearer to my way of thinking than the others.
