I've been set a quiz question which is what is the connection between Beethoven's ninth symphony and the psalm that contains the line "For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous" (Psalm 125 v3, if it helps). Does anyone know the answer please?

Verse 3. No wicked sceptre shall rule
this heritage of the virtuous,
or the virtuous in their turn
might take to evil.
Taken from the (JERUSALEM BIBLE)
Don't know the answer, but we could say that Napoleon tried to rule Europe with a wicked sceptre.
***
KING JAMES BIBLE - Psalm 125.
Verse 3. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of righteous:
Less the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.

Do you know, I think the answer could be as simple as the fact that it shares the same opus number. I had to track down the number of the psalm so I expect that's what the question setter meant by the tough bit. I've probably been looking too deeply into this and couldn't see the wood for the trees.
Thanks to all who replied.
