    On This Day!

    On November 16 1848 - In what would be his final concert, Frederic Chopin, already ill, volunteers to play in London at a Polish benefit ball.

    After a deterioration in his health and a long visit to Britain (1848). He died on October 17th, 1849. His funeral at the Madeleine was attended by nearly 3000 people.

    thanks for that bit of information. Chopin is one of my favorite composers. i have been working on the Marche Funebre from his second sonata. its a very nice piece. well atleast i think so.
