I am 19. For a while I thought the frequency of classical music lovers increased with age, but very recent experience has demonstrated otherwise. You will find just as few enlightened at 19 as you will at the age of 45. I do believe it is a matter of heredity. Providence designed a brutish majority, who live and breath banality to the day they die. Thankfully Providence also invented the Internet.
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing. -- Act V, Scene V, Macbeth.

I'm 47 but act like 16. But don't ask what I look like; I scare the reflexion in the mirror! I've been involved in Classical Music since I was 16.

You deserve some special info on that immortal & inspired tune 'Happy birthday'

The melody of the song Happy Birthday to You was composed in 1893 by Mildred J. Hill, a schoolteacher born in Louisville, KY, on June 27, 1859. The song was first published in 1893, with the lyrics written by her sister, Patty Smith Hill, as "Good Morning To All."

The song was first copyrighted in 1935 after a lawsuit. In 1988, Birch Tree Group, Ltd. sold the rights of the song to Warner Communications (along with all other assets) for an estimated $25 million

Sami: welcome to our site! The What Are You Listening to Now post seems to be our most popular.

                Rutra: Happy Birthday to you!

Indeed, almost like independent CM forums feeding leech-like from the main forum (even though I confess have made the odd post or two to these myself). They get cut off and yet like a recurrence of some vile plague, they reappear!

                    Rod,
Ah, spoken like a youth of 38. It is value-added, and there is no charge for running it! Can't beat that.

I, however, am the ripe old age of 52. All of you who thought that I was only 18 by the tone of my posts can now be suitably surprised!

                    ------------------

That's my opinion, I may be wrong.

Well, I have come to learn Gurn is very good with most ages...

Well, as you can see, there are many your age and even younger here.

                          I am also 23.

Wow! You really don't like that thread!! It seems most of the people here do though. I think it's a positive post because it gives a chance for everyone here to discuss their likes and dislikes of certain CD's which might help other people and to discuss in length about their preferrence in different kinds of music also it gives everyone a chance to talk about all these issues in a more friendly and personable way.

If discussion regarding anything to do with Op.57 approaches 150-odd postings, unlike the 8 currently, I may reassess my position in this matter.
