      There is absolutely nothing French about Chopin's output. If you look at some of his genres such as the Mazurka or Polonaise, it is easy to see what his focus is. Even in some of his more French Avant-Garde works, such as the Ballade No. 4 in F minor, he unashamedly uses Polish folk song, producing marvellous effects. The only French trait present in his music is subtly; he did not get that from the French however, he got that from Mozart.
