A Splendid idea BW.

I've been playing:
The raindrop prelude by chopin op.28 nr.15,

a waltz by chopin in a minor brown index 150.

An etude by bürgmuller called the little elves

Träumerei by schumann.

And I've set myself too the first movement of the sonata in e minor op.90 by beethoven..which I find not as difficult as much of the other opening movements..

Do you have any ideas?
I must choos one "biger" work from Liszt (I was thinking about some Hungarian rapsody ...)
What do you think about Bach: Toccata&Fuga, e-moll ?

I've not reached the level of leszt just yet but there are some nice pieces he wrote:Waldesrauschen,gnomenreichen.hungarian rhapsody nr.2 in Cis minor and his mephistowaltz,his liebestraum nr.3 in a flat major or perhaps his paganini-etude la campagnella...those are all top-notch works

YOU'VE PLAYED waldesrauschen already...
For how long have you been playing then *your record says student*...I'm 18 and play the piano since my 14th this is my 4th year...I'm glad to be able too play some of chopins works let alone the works of Liszt...

Some of the things I've been working on (for fun) are 1st movement of the Beethoven 3rd Piano Concerto, 3rd Movement of the Mozart 23rd Piano Concerto, and slow movement of the Appassionata.

I am also in the middle of setting some of Rumi's poems for small chorus.

Also, I have finished a new batch of poems that have evolved over the last few weeks.

Someone is working on Chopins 4th etude op.10?! How far are you into it, and at what tempo? I was looking at it, and man there are some crazy stretches for those chords/arpeggios!!

Went to a stunning choir and organ concert last night it was just WONDERFUL!!!!

I haven't had any lessons since March, but I've been working on a few pieces. I'm still practicing these pieces for my college placement next week:
Chopin's 1st Nocturne, op.9, no.1
Beethoven's 5th piano sonata, op.10, no.1
Bach's Allemande from the 5th French Suite

I am working on these peices for fun:
Mozart's Aminor piano sonata, K.310
Beethoven's Kreutzer violin sonata

Ruud- I've worked on the op.90 sonata. I was learning it when I stopped taking lessons, so I still can't play it very well. I love that piece. The first movement isn't really very hard, except for those two sections, the first one is at bar 56, and then it's repeated later. Those are terrible!

I love Scriabin. Do you know any of the sonatas? No.s 5-9-10 etc...

He's more natural (to me) than Liszt, whom he writes more or less alike. I only get confused by the impressive amount of sharps and etc . I never heard these sonatas, with whom do you recommend them?
