On this day
On this day the 16th of august 1876, Wagners Opera Siegfried goes into premiere in Bayreuth in his own build festhalle which he created in such an extent that it would be PERFECT too stage his opera's and perhaps some other ones aswell If his ego would have allowed this 
..The opera Siegfried is on of the last operas in a whole cycle of operas known as "der ring des nibelungen" which is all about german rites and sages.The first ideas are sketched round about 1850 but it would take 2 decennia too complete the masterwork in the form we knwo it today.
the story of siegfried in short is this:
Siegfried is the Son of siegmund and Sieglinde.Siegfried repares the sword notung which belongs too his father and sets about on a quest too kill the dragon which protects the ring which is soo important troughout this cycle.
The dragon though appears too be Faffner one of the giants who has been stricken by the curse of the ring.After Siegfried obtains the ring he goes in search of his GREAT love Brünhilde whom he wishes too marry..Wodan the master god of the german mythology tries too stop him by throwing his spear at him..Siegfried catches the spear and BREAKS it thus ending the divine powers of wodan..One of the last obstacles for our hero is a wall of fire.As he passes this wall he finds Brünhilde and wants too kiss her, Brünhilde however *because of quite traumatic experiences* is quite wary and doesen't want any of that at first...In the end however she falls in our hero's arms...
Quite the love story indeed isn't it...
