    Interesting how everything the orchestra does "wrong" can be attributed to the guest conductor who comes in for, what, two rehearsals? He probably had time to run through the piece a couple times. If the orchestra can't play together or observe dynamics, that probably indicates a deeper problem with the orchestra itself.

    As for the Beethoven,what's wrong with "crazy swings between genuine lyricism and clangorous dramatic peaks." Sounds good to me.
