First movement of the "moonlight" sonata op.14-2

what did Beethoven try to express( say) in the First movement of the "moonlight" sonata op.27-2,
what is the insight of the piece of music ?
what kind emotion (sentiment) behind the music ?
what kind of impression you get from this music?

Oddly, my version of the "Moonlight" is marked Op 27 #2! How odd! In any case, it was not Beethoven's nature to "say" anything in his music, it was just music. But if you hear it speaking to you, he did it particularly well!
