The piece was an immediate success in Ireland, but had problems at first in England when he tried to perform it as a stage work. Now you mention it is Handel's 'death day' tomorrow.Originally posted by King Stephen:

At my parish, the choir performed the Hallelujah chorus this Easter. It turned out surprisingly well for only having about five voices to a part. Truly inspiring.
