    Fidelio on Robben Island

Read a report in "The Times" the other day about this special performance to mark 10 years of South African democracy. Elizabeth Connell (from SA) was in the title role. The reviewer found the whole experience very moving. Quite a feat to get the audience across to that remote island!

Anyone else out there notice report or can add more details?

There are a few links about this on the web, here is one: Go to the link at the bottom of the 'News' column on the right of the page:

Quite appropriate the Island was chosen as the venue for this piece, given its history. You'd have to be born without a heart not to be moved by Fidelio!
